Day 11 Post Op
I’m not gonna lie – today was a tough day. I think that the rain might have had something to do with it. Who knows? But was today better than yesterday? Yes. Because if nothing else, it is one more day under my belt in my healing journey.
Today’s wins (What made today better than yesterday?):
- Interviewed with a Facebook recruiter (not related to the THR, but still a good thing)
- Made my follow-up appointment for November 3rd – election day
- Changed the dressing on my incision. All. By. Myself.
And speaking about the incision, it’s not nearly as scary looking or large as I thought it would be. Next time I change the dressing, I’ll try and remember to take a picture.
Looking back over this recovery, I think if I had lost more weight prior to the surgery that I’d be able to get around easier. I know that when I’m more fully healed, I will take on that challenge. For now, I’m basically at the mercy of my man, who does not cook. Tonight, he brought home burgers from Five Guys. Yummy, but not healthy. Before surgery, I busted my butt cooking and freezing meals he can just throw in the oven, or warm up on the stove. Beef stew, chili, bean soup, and a bunch of casseroles. I will gently encourage him to cook these.
