So…. the idea of writing a post each day has not panned out. Oh well. I’m still following Noom, logging my food, getting 5000+ steps each day and 30+ minutes on the Cubii.
My surgery is a week from tomorrow. I’m trying to staying positive, but can’t help be a little nervous. This coming week will be busy with appointments: pre-hab physical therapy on Tuesday, haircut on Thursday, and COVID test on Friday. I need to quarantine after the COVID test, so I need to run any errands for that.
I’ve spent the weekend cooking meals for the freezer. I cooked a ham, made bean soup with the bone, meatballs, and baked chicken. I’ve been busy! I got out the Food Saver and put it most of it in the freezer. I’ll finish up the rest tomorrow.
Yesterday (Saturday), I also worked on my vegetable garden. About a month ago, I built a raised bed (4×8). We finally went out to get a cubic yard of topsoil/compost mix yesterday. I spent the good part of the afternoon shoveling the dirt from the truck bed to the raised bed. Really hard work. This morning, I planted the vegetables. I have cherry tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, green bell peppers and cantaloupe. I also have lettuce, spinach, broccoli and three kinds of basil in planters on the deck. The garden will be an incentive to move after the surgery. I know that I won’t be able to tend (water mostly) the garden for a few weeks, and I’m hoping that Jimmy will help.
The highlight of my day was discovering that my Venus Fly Trap caught a fly!
