Yesterday was day 6 of 17 before my surgery. 12 more to go! I met all of my daily goals:
- Log my food in the Noom app
- Eat a “green” food at each meal
- Walk at least 5000 steps
- Peddle on my Cubii for at least 30 minutes
- Read the Noom lesson of the day
- Write a blog post
So… I didn’t write a post last night. Going forward, I will write a post in the morning about the previous day.
I’ve had a tough few weeks, stress-wise. I’m anxious about my upcoming surgery, and I’m having some disturbing relationship issues. I’m also in the middle of looking for a new job. My contract/gig work is not giving me as many hours as I’d like. The job market is supposedly opening back up as the pandemic comes to a close. It seems that most of these new jobs are in the minimum-wage, unskilled labor pool. But I will persist in my search! There are are challenges: not having developed software in over a year, living in a rural area where the commute to most jobs is over an hour, and my age. I truly feel that I’m disadvantaged because I’m an older lady. I’d like to be proved wrong on that theory.
Mark Zuckerberg infamously told an audience at Stanford, “I want to stress the importance of being young and technical. Young people are just smarter.”

Is that crazy or what?
Switching gears to a happier topic, I finished the socks for Dawn and Charlie. I had to push through the last one (I get bored knitting socks continuously), and I’ll be doing a few different projects before I start another pair of socks.
