I decided to get back to making something a little more complicated this weekend. “Rolls Of Unusual Size” are inspired by the “Rodents Of Unusual Size” that inhabit the Fire Swamp. These rolls are shaped to resemble rodents and sport raisins for eyes and almond slivers for ears. They took a while to prepare, waiting for the dough to rise, then punching down the dough, then dividing into eight balls, then waiting for those to rise again. Phew. Finally, the balls of dough are flattened, wrapped around some ham and cheese, forming a tail, then adding the eyes and ears.
I had planned these for our lunch. But really, they would be better as a side for stew or chili. We rated these a seven.
